Red Hands by Saremco Tech Inc., recommended app for people living with dementia

Review

Also known as hot hands or the hand slap game, Red hands is a reaction time game commonly played by children. This app presents a virtual and modern version of this game, allowing users to play against the computer or against a real human player in real time. Users can select from a variety of ‘hands’ to choose from such as animals, skeleton, mummies and more.

The rules of the game are simple. Players take turns attacking and dodging. The goal of the game is to attack your opponent’s hand before they dodge, causing their hand to turn red. Unlike the traditional gameplay, this app contains an element of time, where the attacking player has limited time to attack. If the player does not attack before the timer runs out, they lose their turn and it becomes the opponent’s turn to attack. On the other hand, if a player dodges three consecutive times, ‘chicken’ is called he/she must submit to a free slap by the attacking opponent. The first player to reach 10 points wins the game.

The app contains full screen adverts before and after a game, which can be easily dismissed and do not disturb gameplay. At this time, there is no option to purchase an upgrade to remove the adverts. We recommend turning off the Wifi feature to help minimize the appearance of adverts.
